Dexter Kopas

Field Crew Leader

Originally from Seattle, Dexter found a love for field conservation work while studying geology and environmental studies at Wisconsin’s Beloit College. After school, he’s been spending time all over the country doing landscaping in his home state, wilderness stewardship in Arizona, farming in Vermont, and land surveying in Illinois. Now back in the southwest, Dexter is excited to both apply his broad background in restoring the Arnett creek and to explore more of the mountains and canyons that make Arizona a special place. During free time, he can be found biking, rock climbing, foraging, backpacking, gardening, and otherwise adventuring in the elements. He is always willing to talk sourdough baking, electronic music, football, or new ideas for how to improve one’s morning oatmeal.
