Grace grew up in rural southwestern Montana, where her connection to the land began with food: picking huckleberries and serviceberries and helping out in the family garden. In high school and college, she worked on farms and studied biology, discovering her great love: plants. In the forests and plains of Montana, she has worked on a native seed farm, collected wild seeds for conservation projects with the Forest Service, and conducted plant surveys for the BLM. You can find Grace peering through a hand lens, getting acquainted with the (new to her!) plants of Arizona. She is excited to play a part in protecting habitat and encouraging sustainable use of the outdoors. If you have any plant knowledge to share (and any recipes too!), she’s all ears.
